Notes about the restoration project

This restoration was carried out on a small work by Francesco Lo Savio (1935-1963), made of cardboard and tempera, which is part of the collection of the Giovanni Carandente Museum – Palazzo Collicola in Spoleto (Perugia).

The work was in poor conditions, and broken into three pieces. Luckily it had been photographed when it was still intact, so it was possible to reconstruct it with an intervention based on that image, with the challenge of giving the right original inclination to the pieces of cardboard.

After gluing the pieces, we proceeded with the chromatic retouching and finally the work was mounted inside a plexiglass case and exhibited at the Giovanni Carandente Museum of Modern Art, Palazzo Collicola in Spoleto.
