Restoration of Early 1900 Austrian Astrolabe [Private Collection]

Notes about the restoration project

This minor restoration intervention was carried out on a very particular object, an Austrian astrolabe from the early 1900s, belonging to a private collection. 

The typology of paper products is very wide. Paper was used to make objects like this that, designed for intensive handling (astrolabes, clocks, globes…).

The restoration intervention was limited to the compensation of a missing piece of cardboard and the chromatic retouching.
