Notes about the restoration project

This restoration involved a book entitled “Cristoforo Colombo, storia della sua vita e dei suoi viaggi“, a rare 1891 edition bound in canvas with impressions.

Among the damages to the book were the detachment of the body of the cards from the front plate of the deck and a strong deterioration of the canvas, with erosions and gaps.

After careful dusting, the blanket was restored using a canvas similar to the original, chromatically retouched with watercolor.
